About the school
Who are we?
We are the only language school in Brussels who offers all the Scandinavian languages. We have more than 50 years of experience and all our teachers are native-fluent in the languages they teach. The Scandinavian Language School is part of The Danish Cultural Institute Benelux. You can find more information about the history of the language school here.
What do we offer?
We offer Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Icelandic courses to suit all students from beginners to proficiency level. The normal courses take place in the evenings and the intensive courses on Saturday mornings. We also offer specialized courses for company personnel as well as private lessons.

Enrolment and payment
In order to enrol on a course 2 things has to be done:
- Send an e-mail to lise@dkibenelux.org providing name, language and any preliminary knowledge. Enrolment has to be made at the latest 10 days before the course begins.
- Please transfer the fee to the account of the Danish Cultural Institute: 310-0143310-30 ING, (SWIFT: BB RUBEBB 100, IBAN BE 153 100 1433 1030) mentioning your name, address, phone number, the language and level. A receipt for the payment must be provided when beginning the course.
Fee, normal courses (22 X 2 lessons): 320 € excl. materials.
Fee, intensive courses (10 X 4 lessons): 370 € excl. materials.
Material costs
Danish books (Aktivt Dansk) : 76 euros(text book and working book included)
Norwegian books (Ny i Norge): 74 euros(text book and working book included)
Swedish book(Svensk Utifrån): 25 euros(text book)

Conditions
The Danish Cultural Institute reserves the right to alter the language programme in case of unforeseen events.
If a student cancels his or her enrolment more than 10 days before the course begins the institute will refund the fee, deducting a 25 € administration fee.
If cancelling less than 10 days before the course begins, no refund will be given.
No reduction can be given to students beginning the course later or finishing earlier than scheduled.
If the institute cancels a course, the students will be informed as quickly as possible and the course fee will be refunded.

The Scandinavian Language School is always looking for teachers who would like to join our already strong teacher team. So if your mother tongue is one of the five Scandinavian languages and:
- you have previous teaching experience
- you are free to teach in the evening
- you can commit to at least 2 years of teaching,

Translations
The Danish Cultural Institute offers the following translations of texts:
- from Danish to English, spanish and Dutch
- from English to Danish, Norwegian and Dutch
- from French to Danish, Norwegian, Dutch and English
- from Dutch to Danish, Norwegian and English
- from Norwegian to English
