Exhibitions
The Danish Cultural Institute is always enthusiastic about cooperating with other partners concerning exhibitions. We are instrumental in bringing exhibitions with topics on art, architecture, design and crafts from Danish museums to museums and larger exhibition-places in the Benelux. Furthermore we organise informative exhibitions on topics of art, culture and society, for example Hans Christian Andersen, Carl Nielsen, Danish literature and smaller art exhibitions - for instance in private galleries.

Please note that the institute also co-operates with other exhibitors and exhibition sites than the ones mentioned above. On this page you will only find exhibitions with already set dates.

Soleil de Minuit by Savina Tarsitano In March 2008 the Italian artist Savina Tarsitano will exhibit her work at the Danish Cultural Institute. Savina Tarsitano has been living and working in Greenland as a part of her project "The Island you want" - an artistic journey that has taken her to different islands around the world. Her artistic mark is to adapt and identify with the environments she meets on her travels and in Greenland she was not only inspired by the surroundings, but also by the insights provided by Inuit civilisation. The opening of the exhibition is on March 7th and will be performed by the ambassador of Greenland, Lars Vesterbirk. The exhibition is made possible in collaboration with Instituto Italiano di Cultura and
Centre culturel de rencontre d'Ambronay. He will in 2008 out display his works in other places in Brussels - stay tuned for more info. Not wanting to be defined, nor to be explained, the artist and his works will speak for themselves, not necessarily producing meaning, but surely atmosphere. The atmosphere will in effect be for the viewer to interpret and comprehend. As such, Mikkel Ørsted Sauzet, or MØS as he signs his paintings, leaves us with a quote that oozes childhood rebellion, and quirky hidden humor; "My name is Mikkel, I can bike a train, I can sail a shoe, and I smell like Lego."

Information to exhibition sites The Danish Cultural Institute cooperates with museums, galleries and big exhibition sites in Benelux. Please contact us to find out how we can cooperate. Besides, cooperating with traditional exhibition sites, the Institute is also very interested in working together with Danish companies in the Benelux that might be interested in an exhibition with Danish artists. Denmark has a rich tradition in this area and many companies have their own arts society. The Danish Cultural Institute has among others arranged a successful exhibition at Coloplast with the Danish artist Lisbeth Van Deurs. The Institute aims at creating a breeding ground for artists that are unknown, or who have not previously exhibited in the Benelux. We are looking forward to receiving your inquiries. Each of them will be individually taken care of/dealt with. In the cooperation, the Danish Cultural Institute assumes only the role as a communicating authority. This means that the institute will assist artists in creating the contact between the artist and the exhibition sites; we will assist in PR matters and give advice on support for transport and sponsoring. The Danish Cultural Institute never finances an exhibition, but we can assist in finding funds that could lead to partial financing. From 2006 onwards, the Institute has introduced a fee of €150 per exhibition to cover the administration costs. The institute appreciates your understanding hereof. We are constantly working on new projects. Please keep updated via our homepage. Are you looking for something special? Please send an e-mail with your ideas and suggestions. |
