3. How do I know which level to follow?

On Wednesday the 26 th of September the Danish Cultural Institute is organizing a language day. From 17:00-21:30 you can come and take a level test and hear more about the language courses.

We are currently adjusting our levels to meet the Common European Framework, but in the meantime here follows a short description of content of levels.

Level 1 in Danish, Swedish and Norwegian

You learn: to introduce yourself, to speak in short sentences about the weather, your family, where you live, your work, what you have been doing and what you will be doing.

You can travel to the country and ask for a menu at a restaurant. You can spell your name, count and tell what time it is.

The teacher will at least 60 % of the time communicate in the native language. You will get homework and in the class there will be reading, writing and talking.

After half time you will be evaluated and get feedback about your progress.

The class lasts 45 minutes X 2 with a 15 minutes break(intensive course 45 minutes X 4 with small breaks in between)

Level 2 in Danish, Swedish and Norwegian

You will experience your language skills and will be able to have small conversations.

You will be able to understand more of the native language and you can have shorter conversations on the phone, you can express likes and dislikes.

The teacher will at least 70 % of the time communicate in the native language. You will get homework and in the class there will be reading, writing and talking.

After half time you will be evaluated and get feedback about your progress.

The class lasts 45 minutes X 2 with a 15 minutes break(intensive course 45 minutes X 4 with small breaks in between)

Level 3 in Danish

You practise and improve what you have learned in level 2, and develop your skills on grammar and independent language production (spoken and written).

The class will read texts written for Danish native speakers in order to enhance their cultural understanding and use these texts to practise real time usages of Danish.
